Festival of Lights

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Missing-Varrun/156871291054733

They will be lit, lamps all... luminescent in their pious glow,
I will sit under starry skies... reminiscing of days long ago,
When the lights and endless laughter were a part of the day,
When life had a colour, a glow... like a rainbow at play,
Near ones, loved souls whose nearness was sheer joy,
Old rituals, customs and festivities not just a routine ploy,
Passed away...  those moments and ones who are now of yore,
Shall never return again... my blissful past to make me smile like before,
Yet, I shall light the lamp, and seek the stars again on Deepawali night,
My homage to moments, feelings and loved ones whom I shall never sight.

Wish everyone a most wondrous, joyous and a peaceful Diwali.  It is not just a day to light lamps but to light up our lives.  And the only way to do it, is to light up the lives of others...!  May the lamp glow and dispel the darkness of hatred, violence, selfishness, greed and fear....and may God bless us all!!

THE DAY WE ALL LOOK FORWARD TO - SUNDAY

Sunday's have a flavour most enjoy... it marks a day to rest, eat leisurely meals, meet friends and have outings with the family!  I often wonder at those who are largely to themselves, does the day make a big difference..perhaps they rest too but cannot share their moments with close ones.  I spend this day dusting the 'dead archives', a name I have given to my old memories... they often peep from the remotest corners of my mind. And I am reminded of times when Sunday's were such fun... all that seems a long time ago.  Yet, I do not dread the day, at least it gives me time to myself and I need that too... besides my thoughts and reminiscences need to be galvanized.  They help me recharge and rearrange pictures from yesters... which induce joy with hints of sadness.  Even though Sunday's are now a tad drab, they were once a glee! And deep down I still know.. however it is now, the best is yet to be!

SILENT PRAYERS

What could be the first thoughts for a blog.. especially when I am silently contemplating life. Perhaps silent prayers... for silence speaks, silence hears the unsaid and silent prayers for others are the best anyone can do.. to make life better!
